About Time

Yes, it's about time I blogged again, changed my name and header.
Joey the rabbit it is for now, he comes for his holidays most years during the summer, so here he is having a wash. He is really cute!

This card is for a 50th Wedding Anniversary later this week
My youngest has started her own quilt,(with a little help from me)

She also requested these for running on cold mornings orienteering.

I have taken a morning class one Saturday at a beading shop in our town. I made these for a friends birthday, I am pleased how well they turned out and she loved them.

I have also tried my hand at Redwork not done too much of this yet but will get around to it.
The weather here has turned to rain, and we have three flat roofs one of which is leaking through to the utility room, and leaking badly. The roof repairer was due to come today, but as the weather is still very inclement he has put us off until tomorrow, meanwhile it continues to rain in.
I am about to try a new recipe found here,
I purchased the ingredients this morning, after a doctors visit as I have a chest infection. This is really annoying as I have a concert to preform in on Good Frday evening. I need to get better fast!!

Spring Creativity

Since I was last here, I have kept busy, progress has been made on the socks,

Sick child and snowy day

The half term holidays went far too quickly, still, we enjoyed them. Visiting relatives and friends. Looked after two cats and a rabbit for the week and made a trip to Stratford Upon Avon to a craft shop there.
The little purses are made of vintage fabric given to me by my aunt as she no longer crafts as much as she did. Even the zippers are vintage!
This fabric was bought from a new shop just opened in the next town, along with the gingham ribbon and some red thread. I thought I might have a go at redwork at some point and the shopowner recomended the thread.

This is the bag it all came in, the shop is called Decorative Cloth, and I can't wait to go back and enjoy browsing again, we really lack fabric and yarn shops in this area I hope it succeeds.

Half Term Holidays

Today is Monday, and the start of the half term holidays week for us, the girls don't really need me to look after them any more they are both old enough to do that themselves, but I am all too well aware that time is marching on and next year there is a strong possibility that our eldest will have left for university, so I take the holidays to spend time with them while I can.
We may not do very much together, maybe see a film, or go bra shopping! But just being there at home together, or coming back knowing someone is home, is just as comforting.
My weekend has been good. I finished another pair of socks using Wise Hildas sock pattern

I made these paper snowdrops because my real ones looked to lovely to pick, and they are the only thing out in the garden at present. Surrounded by hearts for Valentines day.

I also finished this bag. It came as a kit with the book shown behind. It was easy to make and I am pleased with the result. It is supposed to have four buttonholes but only has two because my buttonholer on my new machine has broken!

I have also started reading Catcher in the Rye. Never read it at school (most people did) so spurred on by Salingers news I've made a start.

We Live on cake, here's proof!

Ian celebrated a birthday earlier this week, he asked for coffee cake, here it is, better late than never, and made by my youngest.
Cast on another pair of socks using a knitty.com pattern called Sunday swing, unsure how to make a link to the page here but the pattern is in knitty Summer 2009.

Stash of sock yarn to make up patterns out of the book below.

More Birthday wishes

I have been making this box card for my daughters friend . She lives next door and will be 16 tomorrow . It was themed purple to match her bedroom, and contains 12 photos of her and her sisters through her life. Plus a couple of her and my daughter.
This is how it's packaged , I signed our names on the circle in the middle, ansd stamped the bottom of the box with a handmade stamp.

New Quilt for Stella

Long time ago I started this blog, and I have been away busy with life, I am trying to return and keep a record of all the crafting I do. This quilt I made last year for my cousins new baby girl, this is it after the top was completed, and the pic above shows the finished quilt. I have yet to remember how to run a blog!
